The town of Hainesville, located 49 miles northwest of the Loop, holds the distinction of being the oldest incorporated community within Lake County. The community combines the small town charm of the old days with modern day conveniences.
The centrally located community attracts visitors to its multi-use sports complex, Softball City. In addition, the Avon Township Youth Baseball Organization maintains its own playing fields, attracting sports enthusiasts.
Hainesville’s elementary students attend district 46 in Grayslake or district 116 in Round Lake. High school students attend Round Lake High School. Two parochial schools also serve the area.
The Tri-State Tollway (I-294) and the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) are nearby. Drive times to the Loop, Midway Airport and O’Hare Airport are 75, 90 and 55 minutes, respectively. Rail commuters may board the train in Round Lake and reach the Loop in 74 minutes. Bus service is also available.
