Lincolnwood is a small, contained Village of over 12,000 people living in a two and one half square mile area tucked in between the City of Chicago and the Village of Skokie. Lincolnwood enjoys a wealth of clean light industry and excellent access to all forms of transportation. It has a state-of-the-art public library which serves as a cultural center bringing world famous literary artists to the community annually for a two day festival.
Schools
Lincolnwood has a unique school system for children in grades K-8 combining the three schools in District #74 into one campus which accommodates all grades from pre-kindergarten all the way through eighth grade. The public high school in the area is Niles West High School. All Lincolnwood residents may attend as well as residents from Skokie and Niles. Lincolnwood is also a part of the Oakton Community College District. There are parochial schools located nearby and in the Village.
Shopping
Lincolnwood Town Center is located in the Village and Old Orchard Shopping Center is nearby.
Recreation
The Park District is responsible for a wide array of programs for residents of all ages and interests. Thirteen parks and the Lincolnwood Community Center host an assortment of recreational programs featuring swimming, tennis, ice skating and softball. There are also a variety of programs for senior citizens. Summer day camps for children and after-school recreations programs are also offered.
Hospitals
Lincolnwood has two major hospitals just minutes away; Rush North Shore and Evanston Hospitals have both been cited for providing exceptional medical care.
