After years of writing this weekly check-in, I can say it comes with its pros and cons. And so I will: it comes with its pros and cons.
The pros: the adoration of the masses, the recognition by the powers-that-be, the opportunity to reach out to Lippitz Group fans - I mean clients, the highlighting of our beautiful listings, and the responsibility as a lifelong Chicagoan to showcase the city I love so much. Especially the Italian Beef.
The cons: the paparazzi, the constant noise from the helicopters circling above, and the challenge of keeping our discussion current, lively, joyful, and relatively non-partisan (why on earth is being pro-democracy partisan?!).
And the feedback does not stop: that was a good one, I loved that one, that one reminded me of my sister-in-law’s mother, that one was your best, that one was among your worst/blech, that one was disgusting, that one made me ROFL, my priest read that one to the congregation during his sermon, my rabbi read that one to the congregation during his sermon, that one made me feel bad about my countertops, and - who can forget - that one inspired me to reach higher and finally get a Toto washlet for the toilet in our primary bath.
So with all of this, my friends, I’m giving YOU the chance you’ve been dreaming of, the opportunity of a lifetime, really: to write your very own “Into the Weekend” column in the first-ever worldwide global annual Lippitz Group “Into the Weekend” contest. I invite all in LippitzGroupWorld to take a few minutes out of your scrolling to write your own words of wisdom and submit them via the internet to me: [email protected].
Here are the rules: you must be over 18, no (overuse of) foul language, no inexpensive or tasteless side donations or gifts (feel free to reach out to me privately to see if yours meets our standards!), and it must be in English or another language of your choosing.
We will then spend the next hours and days (and weeks, if need be) reviewing the piles of submissions and also evaluating your worthiness as a human being. We will then have our own secret system of grading and balloting among our judges. You will know when a winner is announced because, well, you just will.
And the lucky winner’s submission will be published right here, in this sacred space. So enough with your critiquing; get to work! Our judges are standing by.
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Brad
