With Pride month culminating this weekend with the parade, I think it’s really important to share just how proud I am of our homes. As you are well aware, we show no preference and make no distinction: we love all of our homes, regardless if they are modern, vintage, architectural, or even something in between.
We will be by their side every step of the way even - and especially - if they’re in renovation or transition. Making that decision takes a lot of courage and fortitude.
We appreciate each home for its individuality and what makes it special. No home should be shunned or discriminated against because it was constructed differently or with a decor which we may not fully understand or appreciate. I am proud that our team takes listings which may not be the norm and sometimes go a bit outside the comfort zones of the majority of homes. Certainly, we have listed some homes with out-of-the-box floor plans that many find challenging.
But you better believe we love them. Hell yeah!
And regardless of Sonos, some homes are just wired differently - a fact we just accept without question. What and how their heating and air systems work is a private decision which should be left to the individual residence. And for most, let’s be clear: it’s not a decision at all. They were built this way!
For homes that don’t identify as any particular style or genre, hey - that’s ok! We gotcha!
We also respect our proud allies - homes which are more conventional but which support their more eclectic neighbors without question, day after day, week after week, year after year.
So at this sacred moment, I ask you not only to celebrate the progress that our real estate has made, but to commit to a future where each and every home is fully valued for what it is and what it offers.

The Chicago Pride Parade, albeit smaller and shorter than in past years, is set to return to the streets of Lakeview on Sunday. Chicago's LGTBQ+ community and allies will gather along the new route: Winding south from Sheridan and Broadway via Halsted and Broadway before ending at Cannon Drive at Diversey. The parade typically attracts more than one million attendees, so plan on staking out your spot along the route early if you can.

The World Naked Bike Ride returns for a joy-filled and nude or nearly-nude cruise throughout the streets of Chicago. The 20th happening of this annual event is designed to support body positivity and independence from fossil fuels via a four-hour, 14-mile bike ride that invites participants to ride "as bare as you dare." (Just remember that full-frontal nudity is technically illegal in Chicago).
Exact details of the event (including the exact route) are usually kept under wraps until just before WNBR Chicago launches, but in general in starts near Fulton Market, heads to the Loop and up Michigan Avenue, through the Gold Coast and Old Town before heading up Halsted to Boystown and East Lakeview, then through Lincoln Park, DePaul, Bucktown and Wicker Park before ending back in the West Loop. If you don't care to ride, be sure to cheer the riders on during their fun journey. You'll find all the information you need by following the @ChiNakedRide X account or the Facebook group.
