Into the weekend...

Except for my own birthday, I’ve never been good with dates. Anniversaries, birthdays, holidays: I always come up short - especially without my old Chandler’s calendar notebook with colored markers from Junior High.

Sometimes, even remembering July 4th is challenging for me.

So, please forgive me if I can’t remember the date, year, or length of time; but it doesn’t diminish the fact that Brittany Shapiro joined the Brad Lippitz Group a long time ago - perhaps 12, 13, or 14 years ago - with gusto and the determination to represent the values that set our group apart: an unwavering commitment to our clients and their goals.

Encompassing all of Chicagoland, Brittany successfully navigates the real estate markets in both the City and the suburbs. She will stop at nothing to find her buyers the perfect home - on or off the market, no matter the limitations in inventory or challenges in the market. When she represents sellers, she ensures that they end up with the very highest return the market will bear. This is quinissential A+ representation, and I value her ongoing input and contribution to the group. I always tell new agents to look at Brittany’s success and follow her example.

So, please join me in wishing Brittany a happy anniversary with the Brad Lippitz Group. Whenever that may be.

Have a great weekend!

Best,

Brad

'The First Homosexuals Exhibit' at Wrightwood 659

This weekend marks the much anticipated world premier opening of Wrightwood 659's, "The First Homosexuals: The Birth of a New Identity 1869-1839". Opening today, the show has been eight years in the making for curator Jonathan D. Katz, associate curator Johnny Willis and an advisory board of 22 scholars from around the world. "First Homosexuals" includes works borrowed from leading institutions like the Tate in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, plus loans from tiny private collections in places such as Spain and Sri Lanka. As reported by Courtney Kueppers from WBEZ, "Chicago may be the only place people will see the exhibition, sprawling across three floors and on view through July 26. It’s the type of no-holds-barred exhibit that, in the current political climate where mention of the LGBTQ+ community is being scrubbed from government websites and museums are facing federal funding cuts, seems to require private backing. Wrightwood 659 is owned by Fred Eychaner, a prominent Democratic donor, philanthropist and arts steward. No matter the political winds of the moment, that independent ownership model — and the deep pockets to support new research among art scholars — allows for a dizzying number of paintings, drawings and photographs from 40 countries and 125 artists, many of which have never been viewed in the United States."
