Now that it’s October, it seems that the Fall Thing has landed in Chicagoland big time, whether we like it or not. The weather is a bit nippy, leaves are changing color (against my better advice), and people are getting so damn autumnal. You can’t help but notice the usual seasonal stuff smacking you in the face at every turn: brown knit sweaters, regular pumpkins, little pumpkins and squashy things too, Starbucks lattes with super strange (unfathomable, really) flavors, apples, apple picking, apple pies, and apple cider.
Also: mums from Costco on every doorstep, TV football announcers screaming at the top of their lungs even when there’s a time out, candy corn (uh, gross), hay (in an urban metropolis, of all places), kids picking out their pre-fab Halloween costumes in aisle 4 of Walgreens, and adults assembling their own costumes too, but with just a bit more care, ingenuity, and thoughtfulness.
Frankly, I intend on dressing up in my annual Halloween costume - as a prominent Chicago real estate broker with a Cubs hat. I hope you’ll be able to recognize me! (rofl, lol, rofl, lolx53, ROFLx97).
But here at The Lippitz Group, we’re busy getting in a pre-holiday push for our sellers and buyers. And, even more importantly, we’re looking ahead and photographing properties for our clients who may be selling this Winter and early Spring.
Why now, you ask? WHY?
If you’re patient, I’ll tell you.
Even though we’re pretty awesome at selling properties in every season, Winter is most challenging simply because the photos are not as, well, yummy. And our goal is to capture the essence of our properties at their yummiest, if at all possible. Photos of properties with leaves in the trees, flowers still in bloom, and a sweet sunny glow always look better than those with snow, ice, and gloomy skies (although we could probably photoshop that part out).
So, my friends, if you’re going to be selling your home in the months ahead - OR EVEN THINKING ABOUT IT - reach out to us NOW so we can have our fabulously talented photographer stop by and shoot some damn good photos. That way, we’ll have them in our files if and when you’re ready to sell during the (long, harsh, and miserable) Winter.
Enjoy the season and good luck getting through it!
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Brad
