Last week on a rare warm early Spring evening, we were eating outside at Wilde, a neighborhood joint with killer Caesar salads. Among the throngs of folks enjoying the evening and passing us on the sidewalk was a particular fellow who stood out. While skipping and humming the theme from “Man of Lamancha,” he pushed his lawn mower down the sidewalk with the love and care of a baby carriage.
Things like this make me love Chicago in the Springtime and give me hope. That is all.
