Sure, the stock market is up. Way up. And that’s a really great thing. But, your home is an investment too - one with immeasurable added value, no matter whether its market value goes up or down.
Did you get to live in the stock market? Did you have to read every damn Harry Potter book five times to your kids ad nauseum at bedtime in the stock market? Did you sing Barry Manilow songs at the top of your lungs - and dance like madman to Earth Wind and Fire songs on your breakfast room table in the stock market? Did you decorate the stock market? Store your grandmother’s silver and painfully ugly china from the old country in the stock market? Did you order in Lou Malnati's to the stock market?
Did your husband jump for joy after hearing the unique call of a Rufous-sided towhee at the birdfeeder in the back yard in the stock market?
Did you cozy up on the sofa and watch - and often fast forward through - every “Survivor” episode since its inception at the stock market? Did you watch “Better Call Saul” at the stock market? “Curb your Enthusiasm”? Er, um, “Yentl”?
Did you listen to your kid practice piano every night (with a glass of wine in hand) for 14 years until he became an amazing pianist at the stock market? Did you hang beautiful art at the stock market? Did you display collectibles from your travels which always remind you of those travels at the stock market? Did you hang memorable family photos at the stock market?
Did you cuddle up in a fluffy new down comforter on a frigid winter night and sleep in the next day at the stock market?
And, at the stock market - did you plant apple trees as saplings, nurture them and watch them grow for over 20 years, have your husband and now-adult children pick a bountiful harvest from those trees, and ultimately bake the most delicious apple pies (yes, I made the crusts too, duh) from that harvest for a holiday dinner for your extended family?
So, my friends, I ask you: DID YOU DO ANY OF THAT IN THE STOCK MARKET?
I believe you know the answer. Your home is a beautiful place where life evolves, memories are created, and dreams are fulfilled. Some wonderful times, some crazy times, and some sad times too. All is shared at home.
As always, my group and I are happy to help you find the perfect one for you.
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Brad
