Architecture & Design Film Festival

This touring film festival returns to the Chicago Architecture Center to showcase 20 movies that span a variety of architecture and design topics. This year's festival features an array of films that delve into the essence of Modernism, a design style emblematic of Chicago’s cityscape. Star Dust: From Bach to Bowie is an electrifying act-long tribute to the late rock icon David Bowie, presented by Complexions: Contemporary Ballet, the New York City-based contemporary dance company. Star Dust, performed one night only at the Auditorium Theatre, is a celebration of differences and skillfully blends contrasting aesthetics within music and dance. Pieces from eras ranging between Baroque to contemporary pop will be featured and a mix of the company’s repertoire will be showcased in the first half. Then, the second half of the program will be Alvin Ailey Alumni Dwight Rhoden’s Star Dust, a piece honoring the work and legacy of David Bowie featuring some of the icon’s classic such as “Young Americans” and “Space Oddity.” Tickets start at $30 and are available at auditoriumtheatre.com.
