Maybe I'm jaded, but it seems like all of the emails and texts I'm reading these days follow a similar pattern. Almost every sentence ends with at least one exclamation mark, even if what they’re saying is not that exceptional. Examples: “I looked at the listings you sent!” or “Let’s meet at the restaurant!!” or “Your dog is nice!!!” or “I had to eat my bagel in the car!!”
The same folks are also lol'ing all over the place. Examples: “I couldn’t find the mayo for my sandwich lol” or “They don’t have popcorn at the theater lol” or even “I love my kids lol.” Are they really lol'ing when they write these? I rarely lol - either in real life or in writing. Something has to be really really funny to make me lol, let alone rotfl.
Similarly, a lot of agents take huge liberties when describing a property. Recently, I’ve noticed that a lot of condos are “nestled” in a huge downtown highrise; that every single house is “fantastic”; and that far too many concrete city blocks are “tree-lined.”
I take pride in describing my listings exactly as they are. This takes time and a commitment to understanding the nuance each listing presents. It’s important to set realistic expectations and to accurately convey how each property stands out. It’s all part of the package when you list with me and my team.
And I just don’t want you to lol at me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle
|
The 2024 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle is this Sunday! For four decades, the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle has catapulted Chicago from a season of hibernation to a season of movement. Long recognized as an annual rite of spring, a celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, and the kickoff to the outdoor running season, the 43rd running of the Shamrock Shuffle will treat runners to a scenic 8K run through downtown Chicago and a 2-mile walk along Chicago’s lakefront.
The event is expected to welcome more than 20,000 fitness enthusiasts to the streets of Chicago.
