If you haven’t yet, I urge you to step outside and check out what’s going on. With the sun shining, Lake Michigan glistening, and cottonwood trees shedding their cotton crap all over my back deck, Chicago is rocking into full-summer mode. People are jogging, running, boating, sunning, grilling, riding, and, well, just having a time of it.
The entire city has overnight transformed into one big festival: the riverwalk is bustling with cafes, kayakers, and people just looking at people. Concertgoers are going to concerts, dogs and kids are running around at the farmer’s markets, and the dudes are back playing chess at the beach. Softball, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee is being played in the parks, street food is being eaten in the streets, and art is being bought at art fairs. Watch the parade, picnic in Millennium Park, peruse the exhibits, wade in the lake, and gawk at the bicyclists in the Naked Bike Ride (and, no, alas I’m not participating this year). Chicago is sizzling and alive.
With all that’s going on, I just have one small itsy-bitsy favor: GET OUT OF MY WAY. While you’re out there playing and enjoying this fabulous city, I’ve got to race around the city to show my listings or ensure my buyers get their dream opportunity. And with this crazy traffic, you’ve just gotta get out of my way. No spacing out on your airpods, no stalling at a left turn lane, and no crawling along weaving in and out of traffic while you’re texting your loved ones. Especially if you’re from out of state.
On that note, have a joyous weekend and Happy Pride!

The Chicago Pride Parade is set to return to the streets of Uptown and East Lakeview this Sunday. Chicago's LGTBQ+ community and its allies will gather along the usual route: winding south from Montrose and Broadway via Halsted and Diversey before ending at Sheridan. The parade typically attracts more than one million attendees—plan on staking out your spot along the route early if you can. Brad, Yoni and family will be marching with our favorite local Congressman Mike Quigley so keep an eye out - and if you like we'll try to throw you some beads! Happy Pride y'all!
