Into the Weekend 08.02.24

At 65 words a minute ON A MANUAL, I was easily the best typist in my 8th grade class. Or possibly the second best after Amy Silverstein who may or may not have cheated. Not that I would or should harbor any animosity to Amy after all these years.

But, geesh, I took my challenges seriously. With the focus, determination, and grit of a true champion, I typed away to victory. 

Unfortunately for me, though, typing never made it to the Olympic sport level (unlike more traditional sports like race walking, ping pong, trampoline, breakdancing, BMX, and canoe slalom. Yes, canoe slalom). 

But I do want to congratulate my fellow champions who - like me - have spent so much time and energy refining their crafts to the ultimate level - and performed so brilliantly in the Paris 2024 Olympics. Folks like Katie Ledecky, Stephen Nedoroscik, the entire U.S. Men’s soccer team (the assistant coach of which is BLG team member Rusti Segares' husband, Gonzalo Segares!). 

And, of course, my kindred soulmate, Simone Biles (we are one!).

With humility and joy, I’ve watched my fellow athletes from the comfort of my couch (often with a glass of wine, a deep dish pizza or two, chips, ice cream, and an array of deep fried foods with corresponding dipping sauces).

Fortunately for you, speed typing is not only a thing of the past - it really never was a thing even then. So I can focus - like a champion - on finding, selling, and marketing your homes - and negotiating the best deals possible for you.
