Even though there are a few of you that seem to like it (and will even buy a condo solely for a good vantage point to view it), Chicago’s annual Air and Water Show promises to once again live up to expectations as the most miserable thing our great city has to offer. Well, second most, after trying to pick up your car in the pound on the 5th lower level of Wacker Drive after it was towed. For no frickin' reason.

Midwest Bonsai Exhibition

The Midwest August Bonsai Exhibition at the Chicago Botanical Garden, has a long history, going into its 45th year in 2023. It is one of the largest regional shows in the nation. Centered on the Garden’s permanent Bonsai collection, featuring over 150 world-class trees, it’s a showplace of trees from across the Midwest and beyond. Enthusiasts from across the country bring their trees to be judged in the main hall at the Garden’s Regenstein Center. World-renowned Bonsai artist, Bjorn Bjorholm is guest judge. There will be 30 vendors selling trees, tools, pots, soil and fertilizers. There will also be workshops and lectures, including a Children’s Bonsai styling workshop.
