I used to think that time goes slowest when I’m doing my daily planks, the most miserable and excruciating five minutes any human should ever have to endure.
And I still think that's true.
But for so many of you, so is waiting for my “Into the Weekend” to hit your inbox. It’s now late on a Friday and you probably gave up all hope that your favorite e-blast would even arrive this week. In between your meetings, your meals, your bad snacking in between your meals (we love our Bugles, don’t we?), your texting, your Wordle and Connections puzzles, your pedicures - in the midst of all of it, you’ve been checking your inbox with anticipation and hope. This year’s Spring Flower Show, “Rooted in Mystery” explores the critical parts of plants that we don’t usually see – the roots! In addition to finding and delivering water and nutrition to the leaves and stems, roots perform many lesser known but important functions in the lives of plants. For instance, plants “talk” to each other via chemical and electrical signals emitted by their roots to aid in survival. Visitors will learn about the different types of roots and the cool stuff they do while enjoying a marvelous display of spring plants, including azaleas, pansies, snapdragons, astilbe, baptisia, hydrangeas, and 26 different varieties of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths.
