Like everyone, I often recall my glorious life markers: my graduations from college and from law school, my marriage, the creation and births of both of my sons, and my Bar-Mitzvah (with no elaborate dinner or luncheon, but at least an “extended” kiddush with herring and bite-size gefilte fish balls for which my parents paid extra).
But there is one life marker which stands out. You know me well - and I know you’re going to think that I’m going to say the purchase of your first home (which I helped you find). Or the day you moved into your dream home (which I helped you find). Or the day you decided to unload the condos you bought for your kids (which I helped you find). (And sell).
Indeed, these all are treasured events in one’s life, and it’s my sincere honor to play a central role in making them happen for you.
But the life marker I’m referring to happened to me early today - and it’s so much more impressive and distinctive…and probably something that none of you have ever experienced or even dreamed of accomplishing, for that matter.
And you need to accept that and be cool with it.
Today…..(drum roll).... I solved my Wordle on the first word. Not the second (which is sweet) or third (whatevs). But the first. With this marker, I now feel a life complete, a heart so full, and a raison d'être immeasurably enriched in ways you cannot possibly understand.
For reaching this pinnacle of intellectual achievement, there is no need to send me a present, flowers, or even a Lettuce Entertain You gift certificate (even though all the above are ALWAYS appreciated). And although I always err on the side of modesty (as you well know), I just needed to share the good news and my unbelievable fortune.
With that piece of joy which warms our hearts - even on this cold, snowy, blustery day, I hope you have a great weekend!
