You, dear seller, have been so good. Whether it took days, weeks, or months, you have trusted my advice on the necessary steps to prepare your house for market. You have removed the Herculon furniture your great aunt you from the living room; painted over the (quite amateur) Little Mermaid mural in the nursery; finally recarpeted the rec room after trying to remove the stains which I told you would never come out; refinished your scuffed wood floors; refaced your kitchen cabinets; painted over the (quite amateur) Tahitian sunset scene in your dining room, regrouted your showers; planted (fairly) acceptable flowers and shrubs; liberated your crowded kitchen counter from the air fryer, deep fryer, pasta maker, mixmaster, Nutribullet, Cuisinart, and the George Foreman grill that you haven’t touched in 12 years; taken down your dreadful fraternity paddles; replaced your blinding LED light bulbs; and organized your closets in a way that no one lives.
You’ve done it all. With an eye toward positioning your home to maximize your return, you’ve listened to me, and we’ve come to this precious beautiful moment when I bring your house on the market.
But then we have to show it - and, trust me, showing a house is an art. In addition to leaving the place in my hands, you have to do your part by doing a final sweep to make sure your home shines. I've had clients forget to change the kitty litter, dump the diaper pail, empty the garbage cans, and wipe the toothpaste spit from the sink. C'mon folks, we're trying to make a good impression here!
Other pre-showing no-no's: taking a very steamy steam shower, rotating the loads of laundry so your entire place is noisy and shaking, and - worst of all, the biggest Brad no no - baking cookies.
Now that we got that out of the way…
....Have a great weekend!

Ever wanted to take a walk on the wild side? Here is your chance at Lincoln Park Zoo’s annual Run for the Zoo on June 4! The event is a Chicago favorite, a family-friendly tradition that raises funds to support animal care and save species.
The event is made for everyone and all abilities, from ambitious athletes taking on the offered U.S.A Track & Field-certified 5K and 10K courses, to families looking to enjoy a fun run or walk that accommodates every member of their group. Children between ages 3-8 can also take on the Kids’ Course, a fun obstacle course built to have children running, climbing, and crawling.
All proceeds from the race help keep Lincoln Park Zoo free and open to all, as well as support the zoo’s world-class animal care and global conservation efforts.
Participants can also earn prizes for creating teams and raising funds for the zoo.
