If you’ve never tried to make gnocchi from scratch, don’t. After first watching our dear friends Elizabeth and Charlie so effortlessly prepare delicious fluffy gnocchi for us 35 years ago, I’ve been on a mission to prove that I can do the same thing.
But disaster always strikes and something goes wrong each time. It either clumps, falls apart, falls off the fork too quickly, fails to fall off the fork at all…the list of calamities goes on and on. Over the years, this determined chef has aborted at least three dinner parties at the last minute due to gnocchi fallout.
Well, I’m going to declare to you - and to the world - right here and right now that I’m done with it.
Just because Elizabeth and Charlie are gnocchi masters (well, really masters at everything they do), doesn’t mean I’m worthless if I can’t muster the talent to turn out a damn tiny piece of pasta.
