As you all know, I’m not one to toot my own horn.
Like everyone on our team, I just focus on our clients and assist them in making the best real estate decisions they can, consistent with their goals. I’m just a humble guy doing my job. No more, no less. Except for an occasional Starbucks half decaf grande latte (low foam, no whip, a bit of nutmeg but not too much), I’m a simple guy who doesn’t ask for much. Oh, and also a super cool paint-to-sample Porsche.
So I’m not going to mention that I was just voted the (one and only) 2025 CHICAGO INDUSTRY MVP by Chicago Agent Magazine. Out of 23,132 real estate agents and THOUSANDS OF OTHERS in Chicago’s real estate industry, I’m the one.
Initially, twenty three professionals were nominated for the honor, and then only three were selected as finalists.
And, even without a bathing suit competition - or a question on how to locate the United States on a world map or why the gender gap exists in our country - I won! I was even prepared to play Beethoven's Fur Elise on the piano for the talent portion of the competition (baton twirling was NEVER an option, as alluring as it sounds).
Needless to say, I share this honor with the amazing (but, obviously, not as good) finalists, and I’m forever grateful for their camaraderie and humility.
But I’m not going to go there - because that’s just who I am.
Listen, I’m not going to lie. It does feel incredible to share these heights with other award winners like Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, and even Michael Jordan. Also Adele, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, and - who can forget - Jack Nicholson for his spectacular performance in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.” Oh, and also Jonathan Groff (love ya, brother!).
And I’m not going to go and on and on to thank all those who championed my career like my mother, my father, my husband, my sons, my dog Astro, my great Aunt Bev (and really all my ancestors from the old country), my periodontist, my clients, my UPS driver Mike, my incredible team (Stewart, Anne, Brittany, Jim, Yoni and Judd), my managing brokers Callie and Joe, the great Compass Vice President Fran Broude, and Rhonda at the front desk of my gym who cheerfully greets me every day. And, there are just so many others! (Like my handyman Walter, my 8th grade science teacher Ms. Zibell, my nephew Jeremy, my camp counselor David, my law school professor Geoff, and my babysitter until I was 8, Cathy.
Again, I’m just not going to do it, keeping it cool.
I’m just going to accept this award, lay low, and say…
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Brad
