We change the clothes in our closet. We turn the thermostat from cool function to heat. We service the furnace. We load up on firewood. We plant mums everywhere. We pick the last herbs in the garden. We winterize the hose line, we make cheesy Halloween costumes, we pretend to like Halloween, we attend (or avoid, as the case may be) charity galas, and we start making soup.
We download the shows we want to binge-watch, we start hoarding anything Sara Lee (at least I do), and we start putting on the weight we’ll pledge to lose a few months later as our new year's resolution. We plan our winter escapes and spend the miles we’ll use to get there, start complaining about the cold, rake the leaves, and wait for hours in line in the car to go apple picking only to return home because you couldn’t get into the damn orchard and the kids are pissed.
In addition to these wonderful seasonal traditions, there’s one more thing you should do if you’re even considering selling your home in the next 7 months: call me. We can start going through what needs to be tweaked before coming to market, strategize a game plan - and, most importantly, take some fabulous photos NOW while the trees are full and the sun is shining. Although we can certainly work with photos which are taken in winter, the online presence is much more cuddly without the freeze factor.
We can always supplement the photos later if and when we decide to bring your home to market.
Have a great weekend and pick some of those apples for me!
